Title/ Department: EU FP7 Funded Research Nurse
Location: Beaumont Hospital /Trinity College Dublin
Reporting To: Director of MND Research or nominee
Tenure: Research Funded Post (3 years)
Objective:
Applicants are sought for a 3 year EU funded research programme entitled EUROMOTOR. This exciting systems based research programme will collect epidemiological clinical and demographic information from Irish people with Motor Neuron Disease. The successful candidate will conduct face to face and phone interviews with patients and will upload codified information onto a secure EU based website. They will also identify and interview matched controls for each patient. Collection of blood and urine, and codification of this biological material will also be required.
The successful candidate will join an vibrant multidisciplinary research team based at Beaumont Hospital and Trinity College Dublin, and will interact with European partners engaged in the EUROMOTOR project.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
• An Bord Altranais certified
• At least 1 years experience post graduate.
• Experience in the field of Neurology is desirable
• Experience /willing to train in phlebotomy
• Interest in clinical research & research methodology
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Knowledge of MS Office computer systems.
• Willingness to learn other essential IT systems.
• Full driving licence & access to a car
Salary will commence at the basic level
