Microbiologists have been working on a semi synthetic virus, called Caryo.32. The virus is a major breakthrough in the battle against several brain diseases, like cancer and Parkinson disease. As one of the test tubes goes missing the hunt is on to find the new medicine but also dangerous and deathly virus. When detective Sarah Wolters discovers that the son of her boyfriend is one of the first victims of the virus, she takes the case personal.
